Transdermal Gels

This dosage form is applied to the skin inside of the animal’s ear flap, also known as the pinna.

Pet Medication Examples:

  • Methimazole: This pet medication treats hyperthyroidism in cats.

  • Amitriptyline: This pet medication is used to treat separation anxiety in your dog or to treat your cat’s excessive grooming, urine spraying, or anxiety. Can be used in some other animals.

  • Prednisolone: This pet medication is prescribed to relieve inflamed areas, decrease swelling, redness, itching, allergic reactions and for supportive care during stressful periods.

Chewables or Capsules

Pet Medication Examples:

  • Diethylstilbestrol (DES): DES is usually used in the treatment of sphincter incontinence in female dogs

  • Potassium Bromide: Is used for for treating Canine and Feline Seizures and Epilepsy.

  • Cisapride: This medicine is used to treat nausea due to motility problems in the stomach.

  • Amlodipine Besylate: Is used to treat hypertension, or high blood pressure in cats and dogs.
